Protecting the security and privacy of your personal data is important to Sulzer. We process personal data in compliance with applicable laws on data protection and security.

This Privacy Policy describe the personal data gathered in connection with your (the “user’s”) use of Sulzer’s website and social media channels as well as messenger services, apps (“Sulzer pages”) and how such information (the “personal data”) is processed by Sulzer (“Sulzer”) and all companies of and / or affiliated with the Sulzer Group globally (“Sulzer and its affiliates”).

Who is responsible for your personal data?

Sulzer Management Ltd. is the data controller and responsible for your personal data. Sulzer is a globally operating company, headquartered in Switzerland, with its registered address at Neuwiesenstrasse 15, 8401 Winterthur, Switzerland.

By providing your approval on the Sulzer website, you give your consent to this Privacy Policy and the processing of your personal data and the use of cookies for the purposes as set forth herein. We have technical and organizational security procedures to maintain the security of your personal data and to protect your session data and personal data against unauthorized or illegal processing and / or against unintentional loss, modification, disclosure or access. Sulzer warrant compliance with safety measures through appropriate quality specifications and employee training and technical security measures such as HTTPS, database and password protection.

Why do we process your personal data?

We process your personal data based on a legal basis (such as your consent, a contract, permitted by law) or based on legitimate interest and in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws for the following purposes:

In accordance with the relevant law, the personal data may also be shared with, and used for the above purposes, by other Sulzer group companies, third parties who directly or indirectly acquire businesses or parts thereof from Sulzer or its affiliates, with partners in marketing, sales, research and development, with service providers, and with public authorities in Switzerland and / or abroad or otherwise as necessary to comply with the law or a court order.

Where do we store and process your personal data? / Transfer of personal data

Sulzer and any of its affiliates store personal data and operate the Sulzer pages at its or its hosting providers’ facilities located in Switzerland and the European Union. Sulzer and its affiliates may process personal data in and access it from any other country and Sulzer may delegate the processing of such information to third parties, including affiliates abroad. If data is processed in countries that do not guarantee adequate protection, Sulzer will provide adequate protection of the data in accordance with applicable data privacy laws and by way of putting adequate contractual guarantees in place, e.g. on the basis of EU standard contractual clauses, binding corporate rules or it bases the transfer on the exceptions of consent, conclusion or performance of contract, the determination, exercise or enforcement of legal claims, overriding public interests or it discloses the data in order to protect the integrity of these individuals. You can obtain a copy of the contractual guarantees from or will be advised where to obtain such copies by the contact person in section “What are your rights?” below. Sulzer reserves the right to redact such copies for reasons of data protection or secrecy reasons.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We will keep your personal data as long as Sulzer considers necessary or reasonable to comply with the applicable laws, a contract, your consent, a legitimate interest, or for as long as this is necessary for the legitimate purposes for which they were collected. Sulzer deletes your personal data as soon as they are no longer required or when the user deletes or requests Sulzer to delete his / her user account, and in any case after the end of the maximum retention period prescribed by law. In the event of a legitimate base on consent, we are permitted to process your data as long as you don't send us a withdraw.

You have the right to assert your data protection rights at any time, and to obtain information about your stored personal data, to rectify, add to, or object to the processing of your personal data, or demand the deletion of your Personal data. In the event that your personal data is not necessary for contractual or legal requirements, Sulzer will delete your data on request at any time. Sulzer reserves the right to correspond with you electronically in this regard (especially by e-mail) and to process the communication data in their IT-systems.

Cookies specific to Sulzer pages

Sulzer’s pages use “first party” cookies (cookies set by the Sulzer pages) and “third party” cookies (cookies set by a third party website) that provide a service for the Sulzer pages, e.g. like Google for anonymized web analytics, usage statistics; Sitecore experience analytics to identify patterns and trends across Sulzer pages; Salesforce Sales Cloud and Salesforce Pardot usage patterns for lead generation purposes and marketing automation service, as well as Google ads and Google re-marketing.

This includes the referrer, date and time of your visit to Sulzer’s pages, your IP address, country and language information, device information (such as model, operating system, browser version and view port), network information (such as operator), session cookies (session cookies and persistent cookies), your file downloads, videos watched, search keywords used, the type of your browser and the device the website was accessed with, as well as information about how you use the Sulzer pages (together the “log files”).

Remarketing

We use remarketing to advertise online using text, image ads or emails. Remarketing allows us to reach users who have previously visited any of the Sulzer pages and online events, and show them relevant ads when they visit other sites. We may contact you to tell you more about the products and services of Sulzer for sales and marketing purposes. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visit to Sulzer pages. Therefore, third-party advertising provider cookies are set when you visit Sulzer pages. With the visit of Sulzer’s pages, you confirm that the relevant third-party provider, such as Google, processes your personal data lawfully, e.g., with your consent.

What are your rights?
