Our approach

We make employees’ feedback core to our continuous improvement plans for the company. Our strategy and actions on communication, personal development and outreach were inspired by the Voice of Sulzer, our global employee opinion survey implemented in 2018. By creating an environment of open dialogue and collaboration with a horizontal structure, we have ensured that our employees play a major role in redefining our strategic roadmap and commitment to excellence, which is now well embedded in everything we do.

We know that it’s critical that our employees feel safe at work. Therefore, we have worked hard to instill a strong safety culture. We work towards reducing our accident Frequency rate year upon year and have installed management systems that constantly foster a safer work environment.

We recognize the benefits of a diverse workforce and strive to foster an inclusive workplace for all. As part of our measures to tackle the gender disparity in science and engineering, we launched the Sulzer Scholarship for Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) program in 2019. Female students in engineering, technology and science fields can apply to a Sulzer scholarship, offered in close collaboration with selected academic institutions. The scholarship entails financial support, access to Sulzer coaches, learning and practice opportunities, and more.

Since 2017, we have been offering our employees several programs for physical and mental well-being under our umbrella initiative called Sulzer in Motion.

We are proud to say that our employees come to work and remain at Sulzer because we work hard to create an environment of inclusion, openness, and fairness.
