Sulzer technical trainer during Sulzer Academy training
On Thursday March 20, 2025 at 9am (GMT) we will be presenting a webinar featuring two presentations “Pump essentials” and “Package familiarisation”.

Lasting around 120 minutes, the session will be presented in the English language, delivered online using MS Teams. Join our trainers Nick Ahrens and Kolja Mitternacht as they deliver an entertaining webinar session.

The Pump Essentials session will cover:

  • Hydraulic principals
  • NPSH & cavitation
  • Best operating practices

The Package familiarisation session will cover:

  • Pump features
  • Bearings & lube systems
  • Couplings
  • Mechanical seals and seal systems

Meet your presenters

Nick Aherns
Nick Ahrens is our Senior Technical Trainer with 34 years of engineering experience taking in roles such as a Design engineer, Technical support engineer and Engineering manager.

Nick is a chartered engineer and fellow of the IMechE and has been working as a trainer within the Sulzer Academy since 2018.
Kolja Mitternacht

Kolja Mitternacht is our Technical Trainer with extensive experience in customer support and mechanical engineering, having taken on roles such as Service Technician and Service Mechanic.

Kolja has been working as a trainer at Sulzer Pumps since 2023, specializing in educating customers on best practices and technical fundamentals.
